Logging in to Facebook today, I see that news about the death of Sven Andreás Wallin (better known to the #FidoNet community as Wynn Wagner III) is being shared on the Fidonet group. He was the author of the Opus BBS software that drove a big chunk of the early FidoNet, and developer of the WaZOO transport protocol that made it possible to scale the network. RIP.

I don't think we're living in the future we envisioned when we were running our FidoNet BBSs back then.
