Our labour agreement has a provision for four hours of work time bonus on Carnival Monday (Fasnetmendig, which usually has all the carnival parades), and people are mostly not expected to come to work, even though it's a normal business day.

I usually treat it as a work day, but it's a welcome opportunity for a day off at half price this year...
